SwingSearch President Debbie Wissel Appointed to Board of Directors of Isaiah House

June 2025

SwingSearch President Debbie Wissel has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Isaiah House, a long-standing shelter, food pantry, and rehabilitation program serving Essex County, NJ.

Located just outside of New York City and Newark, Isaiah House has been a powerful presence in the community for nearly four decades—providing shelter, meals, and support services to thousands of individuals and families each year. One of the only shelters in New Jersey where families can stay together in private rooms, Isaiah House is especially focused on helping women and children rebuild their lives with dignity and support.

Wissel was introduced to the organization in 2017 by local photographer and artist Lisa Rayman Goldfarb. What began as an introduction turned into a lasting connection, rooted in deep respect for the Isaiah House team and the life-changing work they do.

As a former startup operator who wore many hats—and now as President of SwingSearch—Wissel brings both strategy and scrappiness to the table. Her background makes her especially well-suited for one of the Board’s biggest needs: recruiting new donors!

Nearly 90% of Isaiah House’s funding comes from government programs. Many of the individuals it serves work full-time but still rely on critical assistance like Medicaid, housing vouchers, and food stamps to move forward. With those programs at urgent risk, Debbie looks forward to helping Isaiah House grow its impact at a moment that truly matters.
