This fall, SwingSearch’s name showed up in an unexpected place: across the backs of a town full of 8-year-olds playing their hearts out on the baseball field.
When Paul Hastings—husband of Swing’s Debbie Wissel—signed up to coach his son Grayson’s travel team, the registration form asked for a sponsor. He quickly typed in “SwingSearch” to move things along.
And just like that, the SwingSearch Pirates were born.
They wore their gold jerseys with pride all season and ended with a nail-biting 11–8 win over the undefeated Yankees in the championship game. (Yes, we’re still talking about 8-year-olds. Yes, it was still somehow a nail-biter.)
Thanks to a shortage of sponsors, those SwingSearch jerseys didn’t stop with one team. Shirts were printed and handed out more broadly—so now kids all over town are repping SwingSearch at practices, playgrounds, and post-game pizza runs.
Far from the world of recruiting, you could still hear it on the sidelines: “Go SwingSearch!”
Not planned—but definitely one of our favorite wins.
