SEARCH MANAGER

SwingSearch is a recruiting firm that partners with high-growth technology startups backed by some of the world’s most prominent VC investors (Sequoia, Norwest, Khosla, a16z, etc). Our team is a mix of industry veterans and highly educated rising stars; we work across all tech industries (B2C/B2B) with early-stage clients from Silicon Valley to NYC. Our headquarters are in downtown Oakland, but our team now spans across the U.S. from New York, Chicago, Nashville and more.

Job Description

The Search Manager is a dynamic position at SwingSearch that will give you the visibility and skills needed to become an exceptional recruiter. 

In this role, you will work directly with a SwingSearch Partner to improve and support our search process end to end, from business development and search qualification to candidate sourcing and negotiation. This role is a lynchpin in helping improve the team’s efficiency, quality of work, and overall capacity in our search practice. 

This role supports the Partner’s team and will have the chance to work with members across the organization. The career path for this role is to learn the mechanics and skills of recruiting to eventually take on your own searches. 

 

What You’ll Do:
Under the guidance of a Partner:

Day-to-Day:

  • Train and support functions across SwingSearch including; Business Development, Research, Sourcing, Strategy, and Recruiting. 
  • Work closely with your team to launch, manage and close out search processes
  • Help develop, communicate, and execute on highly effective recruiting strategies; monitor and provide feedback on alignment with recruiting strategies across your team’s searches
  • Ensure that all internal and external systems are kept current as candidates and clients move through the search
  • Manage scheduling and communications for internal and external stakeholders to support sales and recruiting processes
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and/or research support to Swing stakeholders within the various functions, i.e; GTM, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Product, Strategy, Finance, HR, Operations, etc
  • Write, edit and distribute various search collateral and correspondence including search dossiers, position descriptions, recruitment marketing campaigns, research briefs, candidate submissions, client reports, and candidate communications as directed
  • Work with your team to help coach clients and candidates through the recruiting process, proactively identifying and helping to clear hurdles to your team’s success 
  • Provide a consistent and positive experience for candidates and clients alike and actively seek to uphold and improve SwingSearch’s positive brand image in the startup and VC ecosystem

 

Furthering Swing:

  • Support the qualification and adoption of new technologies related to your work 
  • Together with your manager, pilot initiatives, analyze data, and design and implement processes, tools, and communication practices that support increased efficiency and capacity on your team
  • Develop and leverage research and sourcing expertise, collaborating with your team and the broader SwingSearch team to develop new ways to identify and engage passive talent

 

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of full life-cycle recruiting, coordination, project management, or research experience at a recruiting firm or 2-3 years related experience in the tech industry 
  • Strong preference for startup experience and a demonstrated ability to develop and stand up new processes and tools across teams
  • Experience supporting multiple stakeholders and processes simultaneously
  • Proven organization skills with the ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple tasks in an environment with competing demands
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a track record of overcoming challenges and identifying solutions to achieving results 
  • Empathetic and versatile in communication, with the ability to manage relationships with a range of personality types
  • Experience in customer/client-facing roles with a commitment to excellence in customer service
  • Experience in market mapping, identifying, and sourcing candidates
  • Familiarity with a recruiting technology stack including; Copper, ClockWork, LI Talent Recruiter, Gem, Asana, Slack, G Suite, Zoom, Calendly, etc.
