SENIOR RESEARCH ANALYST

Our focus is on senior-level individual contributors to VP/C-level executive roles across Marketing, Sales, Growth, Product, Data Science, Engineering, Customer Success and HR/Finance.

Our headquarters are in downtown Oakland, but our team now spans the U.S. from L.A., New York, Chicago, Nashville and more.

THE OPPORTUNITY

As a Senior Research Analyst, you’ll be leading the charge on market mapping, target list creation, and overall search strategy both internally and externally for all searches. Internally, your key stakeholders will be Swing recruiters at the Director and Partner level. Externally, they will be founders, CEOs, and their leadership teams, as well as talent executives within our VC ecosystem.

You’re an expert in market research for different industries, you know the tech startup landscape, who the hyper-growth startups are, and how to build a winning sourcing and pipelining strategy for true exec searches. You have a knack for identifying top talent, creating talent acquisition strategies, and can build a pipeline of candidates to deliver against high profile positions. You are highly organized and process driven, with the ability to maintain a content management system. 

Some of the things you will do:

  • Lead strategy for new search launches including pre-launch discovery, product marketing mapping, buyer persona identification, sales motions, go-to-market strategies, and dissecting each search requirement.
  • Provide expert search guidance on leveling and overall search strategy both internally and externally.
  • Partner closely with related functions (Leadership, Recruiters, Operations and Marketing) to ensure that all initiatives are well-defined, well-communicated, and correctly prioritized, in alignment with higher-order Recruiting objectives.
  • Scope, evaluate, implement and optimize research tools, processes, and methods.
  • Ability to source passive candidates using creative sourcing strategies
  • Manage and escalate risks and issues as appropriate, establish success metrics for projects, and ensure performance is tracked and measured.
  • Author and present quarterly business reviews that report impact and achievements to Recruiting and Business partners.
  • Update and organize our internal content management system
  • Assist with client facing material when needed

 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of Research and Sourcing in tech/startups executive functions within, but not limited to, Marketing, Sales, Growth, Product, Data Science, Engineering and Customer
  • Understanding of both B2B and B2C sectors 
  • Experience in Talent/Recruitment research/project management, leading projects that optimize the recruiting process
  • Experience working across various levels of an organization, understanding desired business outcomes, influencing partner/client goals, and holding people accountable for deliverables
  • Experience working with and in support of diverse communities

 

Nice to haves:

  • Experience updating and managing a content management system (e.g. Google Drive, Dropbox, WordPress, etc.)
  • Photoshop skills (or similar program) for light design work for documents or website updates
  • Experience creating client facing collateral, written and graphic content
